When Football Managers Collide

Posted by on Monday, March 5, 2012 Under: Football
There’s no better sight for a football fan than seeing 2 managers on the touchline squaring up in a heat of the moment clash. It must be the fact that they’re supposed to be the composed ones, proceeding over the chaos around them that makes it so amusing or maybe it’s just watching a couple of old timers trading handbags.
Here are my top 5 manager clashes!

5. Dalglish v Wenger

Just shouting from afar means this clash between the Liverpool and Arsenal managers makes it at number 5. After Liverpool get a late penalty, Wenger displays his disgust, to which Kenny delivers some Glaswegian charm!

4. Wenger v Jol

As rivals in the North London derby, Arsene Wenger and Martin Jol square up to each other after a Robbie Keane goal.

3. Wenger v Pardew

The then West Ham manager passionately celebrates a goal and guess what, Wenger isn’t happy about it! Arsene is so incensed that he even refuses to shake his opposing managers hand.

2. Pardew vs O’Niell

Almost a carbon copy of the previous entry, Pardew is now celebrating a goal for Newcastle against bitter rivals Sunderland, as with Wenger, Martin O’Neill isn't too happy about it.

1.Lennon v McCoist

The old firm derby isn't short of passion on the pitch, but this clash on the touch-line in 2011 shows that passion runs deep within the Glasgow clubs.
