Old Trafford Football Ground - Manchester United FC

There are a handful of hotels around Old Trafford, however, many people choose to stay in Manchester city centre and travel to the stadium using the Metrolink tram system.

Manchester United Football Club play their home games at Old Trafford, nicknamed ‘The Theatre of Dreams’ due to the club’s grand history and prestige. Old Trafford is the UK’s biggest league stadium with a capacity of around 76,000, only slightly smaller than England’s national stadium, Wembley.

Manchester United are one of England’s most successful teams, and manager Alex Ferguson has overseen their success for over 25 years. His time at the club was marked in November 2011, when the club named a stand after the manager, namely, the ‘Sir Alex Ferguson Stand’.

Away Fans

Away fans at Old Trafford are located in the corner of the East Stand in the upper tier for domestic league fixtures. For cup games, the allocation is increased, and from time to time, away supporters can occupy the whole of the East Stand.
