It was built to replace the old Olympic Stadium in Munich to house both Bavarian sides and as a 2006 World Cup venue. The stadium is one of the most aesthetically pleasing grounds in the world both inside and outside. Inside the stadium has a capacity of just over 71,000 and on the outside the facade of the stands can illuminate with either red, blue or white depending on who is playing at the ground at the time, Bayern, 1860, or the German national football team.
The Allianz Arena is located on the Munich U-Barn service making it easy to travel to the ground on match day.
