One of the most famous Rugby Union venues in the world, Twickenham has seen hundreds of England Rugby Union test matches, Heineken Cup matches and Premiership games since it opened in 1907. In addition the stadium has also played host to a number of Rugby League matches, in particular for the opening game of the 2000 Rugby League World Cup.

The stadium hasn’t always had a capacity of 82,000; in 2005 The South Stand was redeveloped giving it a roof to match the other three stands and making a more aesthetically pleasing spherical stadium.
